MOUNT FUJI AND HAKONE ONE DAY TOUR
Mount Fuji (Fuji-San) is the highest mountain in Japan (3,776m). The shape of the mountains is an almost perfect cone with lilac-grey color, and it is covered with snow. The appearance changes by season and time, and this landscape is a symbol for Japan, which is very special in the heart of all Japanese people. Since 1707 the mount Fuji has not been active, and its first eruption was 8,000 – 10,000 years ago. There is no vegetation on the upper slopes and they are covered by volcanic ashes. Originally it was considered to be very sacred and only monks and pilgrims were allowed to climb, then women were not allowed to enter till 1872. Below the mountain, there are 5 lakes: Lake Sai, Lake Motosu, Lake Shojin, Lake Yamanaka, and Lake Kawaguchi.
